The Victoria Falls National Park opens daily from 6am until 6pm
If you have your passport, you may cross the bridge that spans the Zambian and Zimbabwean border posts. As long as you don’t actually enter Zimbabwe you won’t need to have your passport stamped, just let the officials know that you are only going onto the bridge. From here you can watch people bungee jump, or even see some of the rafting companies negotiate rapid number 1.
We run a free daily shuttle TO the Victoria Falls that leaves at approximately 10h00 am.
Entrance fee is US$20 per person.
The Falls may be open for viewing in the evenings when the moon is full, giving you the chance to see a ‘lunar rainbow’. Check at reception for details.
Ah…the Zambezi River…Our water wonderland!
The Zambezi River below Victoria Falls boasts one of the most spectacular white-water sections in the world. Come join us on a full day, half-day or multi-day white water rafting experience. Your fun loving rafting team are fully trained professional guides accredited with the International Rafting Federation and hold valid advanced first aid certificates, some with over 20 year experience on the Zambezi.
Low water season – rapids 1 to 25 open June to Dec High water season – rapids 10 to 25 open Jan to March (this may vary due to river levels).

The Jetboat is a custom built, super twin, 22 seater 700 HP Jetboat and provides a thrilling ride at speeds of up to 100 km/hr – flying over the water, ‘buzzing’ rock faces and spinning circles and twisting in tight arcs – all in the spectacular setting of the Batoka Gorge between rapids 23 and 27, downstream of the Victoria Falls. This is a great alternative for families as there is no age limit but it is still a huge adrenalin buzz.
Morning & Afternoon options available. Includes transfers and cable car into the gorge at Rapid 25.
Jet Boating 30 to 40 Minutes $120
Zambia is the home of the walking safari, and the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park offers some fantastic game viewing opportunities. You can choose from a morning or afternoon departure and then spend around three hours within the Park, searching for the many game species with a qualified guide. Elephant are frequent visitors here, and you may see rhino, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and much more. Drinks and snack are provided along the way. A minimum of two people is required to confirm a trip.

Game drives can be organised too, and offer a fantastic opportunity to see the wildlife in this area. This may be a better option for those families with young children as under 14 yrs are unable to take part in the walks. Game drives confirm for a minimum of four people only.

If you want to get on the river without the adrenalin rush of the rapids in the gorge, canoeing is a great alternative. You can choose from a full or half day. Both experiences will allow you plenty of time paddling along the upper river and there may be opportunities for game viewing as you float past the National Park. Drinks are provided, but remember to take sun block! A minimum number of two are required to confirm canoeing.
Overnight trips can be organised including a night camping on one of the islands in the middle of the Zambezi. Canoeing on the upper Zambezi River with your own professional guide is the best way to see game when passing the Mosi-oa.Tunya national park. The safari will take you into narrow channel of the Zambezi enabling you to take in the majestic scenery and be at ease with the river and wildlife.

Swimming under the Falls
You’ve heard about swimming on top of the Victoria Falls (Devil’s Pool). Well….why not swim under them too?! Cascades of water tumble down around you from where towering rock faces meet the expansive African Skies. It’s an exhilirating experience like no other.
2 trips per day – 8h00 and 12h30 – Low Water Season only.
Meeting point is the main entrance of the Falls. Included: Mineral water, soft drink, chocolate bar and crisps. The rate includes the $20 Falls entry fee so you can tour the Falls Park afterwards. Transfers are not included.

Sunset (Booze) Cruise
There are several different options for a sunset cruise along the upper river. Those looking for a social cruise may prefer to go on the “Booze Cruise” – a great way to have fun and see the amazing sunset at the same time. Drinks, snacks & a BBQ are included. This collects daily from Fawlty Towers between 3 and 4pm and must be booked by at lunchtime on the day of departure. The most recent addition to the cruise options is the Lion King of the Victory Falls serving high quality alcoholic beverages and delicious snacks.
For those looking for a mellower cruise, the Lady Livingstone or the African Queen might suit you better. The beautiful colonial style boats provide drinks and snacks with waiter service. Again collection is between 3 and 4pm and bookings do need to be made in advance. These are both luxury cruise options with excellent nibbles on board.

A quiet small jet-propelled boat allows you to access to parts of the upper Zambezi River where the big cruise boats can’t navigate. Your guide will take you along the islands and banks looking for hippos, crocs, elephant and other game, whilst you relax with a drink in your hand marvelling at the majestic African sunset. Includes drinks on board and snacks on one of the islands in the river. This activity requires a minimum of two people to book.

Abseil off the cliffs of the Botaka Gorge while you enjoy the beautiful view down, if you are not too busy kicking yourself away from the cliffs. Abseiling can be done either half day or full day where lunch is included in the full day. Once you abseiled all the way down you can then enjoy the beautiful short walk up the Gorge.

Horse rides through the bush surrounding the Batoka Gorge and along the upper river can be organised for a minimum of two people. You can choose between a short ride (one to two and a half hours) or a longer ride including lunch. No experience is needed as the horses are suitable for all levels of rider. You will be with an experienced guide at all times, and may spot some game along the way.

Bungee Jump, Bridge Swing/ Slide
Visit the Falls beforehand or catch your first glimpse of the cascades of the mighty Falls as you plummet, swing or slide from the famous Victoria Falls Bridge. Check with the activities office for up to date operating times. Even Will Smith did a bungee!

The Gorge Swing, Abseil, Flying Fox and Cable Slide
As seen on the Jack Osborne Adrenalin Junkie series* For Adrenalin junkies only!! The world famous gorge swing site offers a zip line, flying fox, the gorge swing and abseiling. A full day incorporates all of these activities as many times as you want and includes lunch and drinks. Alternatively you can do a half day or just go out to do the swing only. Enjoy a day flying through the air over the amazing Batoka gorge.

Quad biking is a fantastic way to explore the wonderful landscape and bush surrounding Livingstone and the Batoka gorge area. No experience is necessary, as a guide will supervise you at all times. This is a fun way to spend the afternoon with a group of friends. Longer trips out to surrounding villages can often be organised with advance notice.

Livingstone Island & Devils Pool
Livingstone Island is an experience not to be missed.
Clients need to make their own way to the Royal Deck at the 5* Royal Livingstone Hotel. From there you are speed boated out to Livingstone Island where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or high tea seated at the very top of Victoria Falls.
When the water levels are low enough it is possible to swim at the edge of the Falls in a natural rock pool known as the ‘Devil’s Armchair’ or ‘Devil’s Pool’. In higher waters, swimming takes place in the ‘Angel’s Pool’.
Livingstone Island closes annually due to high water levels; check with the activities office for more information.

Dine in true style on this recently and lovingly restored steam train. Experience a taste of a bygone era as you chug along the Mulabozi track out into the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park. The train moves at a graceful speed through the miombo and mopane bush land, affording glimpses of wildlife as you pass by. As the Sun sets, you will slow and come to a halt before being served a marvellous five course meal in the dining car. After your sumptuous dining experience you once again get under steam and head back to Livingstone, returning around 9pm.
Royal Livingstone Express 2 ½ hours with Dinner $180
Experienced guides will take you to the best fishing areas where your thirst for action can be satisfied. Over 75 species of fish lurk in the waters of the mighty Zambezi with a quest to elude capture. One of these is rated by many anglers as “the finest sporting and fighting fish in the world” – The renowned Tiger fish.
Whether the serious angler, recreational fisherman or first timer – there is enjoyment to be had by all. A variety of wildlife can also be viewed along the river, from hippo to the soaring eagle, the churning rapids to the serenity of a gentle flowing river – there is something for everyone.

This is a short tour of Mukuni Village, the home of Chief Mukuni, who rules the Victoria area. The trip includes return transfers from Fawlty Towers and a guided village tour. The tour is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in Zambian culture and gain an understanding of a semi-rural environment.

Livingstone Cycle Tour – Visit the Maramba African Market, Old People’s Home, a community school, historical buildings and African homes by bicycle.
Victoria Falls Cycle Safari – Cycle to the Crocodile Farm, then across the Maramba River via the Mosi Oa Tunya National Game Park, stopping at the Look-Out-Tree, a giant Baobab which gives you a view of the Falls; then across the Zambia-Zimbabwe railway line and onto the 108 year old Victoria Falls Bridge before stopping for lunch at the Bridge Restaurant. The tour continues with a visit to the mighty Victoria Falls & a stroll through the curio market, then a cycle back to Livingstone with a stop over at the banks of the Zambezi.

Microlight flights can be arranged for early morning or late afternoon. Microlight flights are for 15 or 30 minutes, with the short flight viewing the falls and the longer flight taking in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park from the air. Note that you cannot take your own camera on the microlight, this is for safety reasons and there are no exceptions. DVD’s of photographs taken with a digital wing mounted camera are available for purchase.

SPECIAL FLIGHT OVER VICTORIA FALLS Flight Duration 10 Minutes One and a half orbits to the left and right over the Victoria Falls allowing passengers on both sides of the helicopter to view the Falls, then it’s back to the helipad.
SHORT FLIGHT OVER VICTORIA FALLS Flight Duration 12-15 Minutes One and a half orbits to the left and right over the Victoria Falls allowing passengers on both sides of the helicopter to view the Falls .Then fly towards Long Island to see if you can spot any Elephant and Hippo depending on the time of year. If time allows it you will then fly over the Mosi Oa Tunya Game Park on your way back to the helipad.
MEDIUM FLIGHT OVER VICTORIA FALLS Flight Duration 18-20 Minutes Starts with a low flight over the undulating landscape with its Baobab trees, Mopani trees and Acacia shrub, towards the Batoka Gorge. At rapid number 21 the pilot will gently lower you into the the belly of the Batoka Gorge with its 800ft towering shoulders of rock will fly you past rapids 22 – 23 – 24 – 25 and at rapid 26, the pilot will increase speed to lift you out of the gorge. You then head towards the Victoria Falls flying over several cultural villages below. You will now spend a few minutes flying over the Falls in the same fashion as the short flight i.e. Then it is time to head back to the helipad.
LONG FLIGHT OVER VICTORIA FALLS Flight Duration 25-30 Minutes This flight follows the same flight path at the Medium Flight but with the final leg of this spectacular flight being dedicated to game viewing – The pilot will fly you over Long Island, and the river on both sides of the Island looking for hippo, elephant and some of the large crocodiles that bask on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River then onto the Mosi Oa Tunya game park where there are several herds of giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest and from time to time elephant who visit the park. Then it is time to head back to the helipad.

This safari package is tailored around a conservation effort to reintroduce prides of Lions into the wild. This release programme’s goal is to ensure viable populations remain a part of Africa through an intergrated conservation and community effort. Join us on one of our unique safaris (which includes a short walk to see the endangered White Rhino) and you will not only get up close with both lion and rhino, but you will also be contributing to the continued survival of Africa’s Lions. Fawlty Towers partners with the Happy Africa Foundation, a UK registered and Zambian charity. INTERACT is a short term volunteer programme that enables you to give something back in two ways during your time in Livingstone. Not only will you spend a day interacting with children or adults from the local communities, the funds raised go straight back into the charity’s sustainable projects. You can book a half day or full day and could be assisting in a class room in local school or helping on a community farm that supports the sick and elderly. African Horizons also donates $5 for every volunteer who takes part in the programme.
You will be collected at 08.00 and then after a brief overview of the project you will be taken to your project. Lunch is at the Livingstone Backpackers. Full day volunteering starts again at 14.00 and then you will be dropped back at 16.30. Afternoon half day options (12.30 – 14.00) are also available.
