Pack for a purpose
There is need everywhere in the world. It can sometimes be difficult, however, to identify specific needs in places far from home. We believe people fortunate enough to travel to other countries often wish they could make meaningful contributions to help meet the needs of the places they visit. Such contributions are one way of expressing appreciation for the experiences and hospitality they enjoyed in other lands.
Our goal is to assist travellers who want to say thank you in this manner, or who simply want to expand their generosity beyond their own communities. The supply lists for destinations on our website are provided directly by the local community-based projects that will receive them, enabling travelers to make informed decisions and bring items which meet the needs of the people who will be using them.
The Happy Africa Foundation
Fawlty Towers partners with The Happy Africa Foundation a UK (1123529) and Zambian (ORS/102/53/267) registered charity. The charity’s Sponsor a Child Programme also provides support to a variety of schools throughout the Livingstone communities; supporting children in basic schools and also in higher education. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our partnership with Happy Africa helps to provide additional resources to the local schools as well promoting the Happy Africa’s INTERACT programme- for travellers interested in volunteering in the local communities for either a half day or a full day.
The Happy Africa works with six community schools in Livingstone, teaching up to grade seven. These schools receive little funding from the government and struggle to provide adequate teaching support and the necessary school equipment for the students.
