Kafue National Park and Western Zambia Expedition Route
Your Most Affordable Way to Visit Zambia’s Oldest & Largest National Park. At 2,200,000 hectares, Kafue National Park is bigger than South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park, but the wonderful thing for us, is that it little visited, particularly in the South where we go. The landscape is an attractive mix of Miombo & Mopane Woodlands and grasslands. All of Africa’s iconic wildlife – lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah and elephant are present as well as a huge variety of antelope, including sable and roan in particular. Bird life in the park is prolific with over 500 species. The sheer size of the park makes it a true wilderness, but also means that we sometimes have to look hard for the animals, which makes it a true safari experience.
